Pete Carroll Shares Injury Updates From 26-15 Win vs Philadelphia Eagles

Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll provides injury updates on C.J. Prosise, Earl Thomas and more following Seattle's 25-16 win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

SEATTLE — A week after leaving the East Coast unscathed following their defeat of the New England Patriots, the Seattle Seahawks left Sunday's win against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 11 with a slew of injuries on both sides of the ball.

The most significant injury among those to occur was to rookie running back C.J. Prosise.

"The bad thing is that C.J. got hurt today," head coach Pete Carroll said during his postgame press conference. "He's got a scapula issue that we'll figure out, but he's going to be out for a while. And that's too bad, because you can see what we see in him and how excited we are to have him. He'll have a chance to make it back, but it's going to be a while."

On the injury's timeline, Carroll added: "We won't know until we get all the results and stuff tonight and tomorrow."

Before the injury, Prosise was headed toward another strong day in the backfield. A 72-yard touchdown run in the first quarter on Seattle's second offensive possession from Prosise registered the first points of the day and helped set the tone offensively.

In addition to Prosise, running back Troymaine Pope, who was promoted to the active roster last week, also left Sunday's game banged up.

"He sprained his ankle. (He's) got a little bit of a high ankle sprain, unfortunately," Carroll said of Pope.

As a positive for Seattle's rushing attack, Thomas Rawls (fibula) was impressive and "looked great" in his first action since Week 2 in Carroll's eyes.

"He was hitting it," Carroll said of Rawls' running style against the Eagles. "He was getting tired — he had to come back out there and hang in there tough. It was great to see him play football. He's a marvelous kid, we saw exactly what we wanted to see. He was attacking and getting after it.

"I thought that was a great first game for him."

Other offensive players that left Sunday's game due to injury were wide receiver Tanner McEvoy (toe) and starting left tackle George Fant (shoulder). Fant left the game for a short time and was replaced by rookie Rees Odhiambo, who received valuable reps Sunday.

"That was great for him to have a chance to get out there and he did a nice job," Carroll said of Odhiambo's performance. "It seemed like he held up his part of it it."

Said Carroll: "That's just fantastic for us to get these young guys chances to play in successful outings."

On defense, safety Earl Thomas — who has started every single game of his professional career — left with a hamstring issue.

"He's got a little hammy strain that he can feel and so we got him out of there," Carroll said.

Starting cornerback DeShawn Shead sustained a hamstring injury, too.

"He felt his hamstring (flare up) Saturday for the first time and he just couldn't get loose today warming up," Carroll said regarding Shead's injury. "So we started him, but he couldn't make it, so we'll have to see how that goes."

Linebacker Brock Coyle (foot), plus Neiko Thorpe (cramps) joined Thomas and Shead on the injury report for defensive players.

"We had a number of guys get banged up today and it's a lousy list," Carroll summarized.
