The best photos from the Seahawks' Thursday practice at Virginia Mason Athletic Center in preparation for Monday's game against the Atlanta Falcons.
Seven Seahawks sat out Thursday's practice at Virginia Mason Athletic Center, with left guard Luke Joeckel (knee), left tackle Duane Brown (ankle), strong safety Kam Chancellor (neck), defensive tackle Jarran Reed (hamstring), linebacker Michael Wilhoite (calf), defensive end Michael Bennett (heel), and defensive end Dwight Freeney (not injury related) not participating to start the week.
Seattle head coach Pete Carroll shared several injury updates on that non-participant group and others earlier Thursday, noting Brown and Joeckel could be close to returning, something assistant head coach/offensive line coach Tom Cable reiterated after Thursday's workout.
"I think they're both going to be close come Monday, [Luke Joeckel] and Duane both," Cable said. "So we keep each day kind of working through it. We know that we're getting very close with both of them, so probably going into this weekend, Monday before really knowing anything."
Carroll also said he expects Eddie Lacy (groin), who was limited Thursday, to make it back this week after missing last week's game against the Arizona Cardinals.
"That's what we're hoping," Cable added on Lacy. "Again, a little bit of work today and then we'll see more as we get closer."
Asked if Lacy would be the first option at running back if he plays on Monday night against the Falcons, Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell said: "He's got to make it through the week. He got a little bit of reps out here in practice and has to make it through the week."
