Mike Iupati, the Seahawks' projected starter at left guard for 2019, returned to practice in limited fashion on Thursday, marking the most work the veteran offensive lineman has received in a while after a foot injury sidelined him for much of training camp and preseason. Left tackle Duane Brown (knee), who was sidelined for Wednesday's practice, also returned to practice on Thursday as a limited participant.
Receiver DK Metcalf, meanwhile, is showing encouraging signs as it pertains to his availability. The rookie wideout had minor knee surgery following the Seahawks' second preseason game and practiced for the first time since that procedure this past Monday. He was a limited participant on Wednesday and upgraded to a full participant Thursday. Additionally, Shaquem Griffin looks to be making progress on the knee setback that has bothered him since the preseason opener. Like Metcalf, the second-year linebacker was limited Wednesday and upgraded to full on Thursday.
For the Bengals, receiver A.J. Green was sidelined for the second straight day, while fellow wideout Auden Tate was upgraded to a full participant.
Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll should provide a clearer picture of his team's injury situation following Friday's practice, the team's final workout before Sunday's regular-season opener at CenturyLink Field. Until then, here's a closer look at Thursday's practice report for Seattle and Cincinnati:
