The Seahawks opened their Wild-Card practice week on New Year's Day, holding a full workout on Tuesday at Virginia Mason Athletic Center as the club readies for its playoff game on Saturday against the Cowboys in Dallas.
Eight Seattle players were sidelined to open 2019, with receiver Doug Baldwin (knee), running back Mike Davis (foot), fullback Tre Madden (hamstring), guard J.R. Sweezy (foot), cornerback Shaquill Griffin (ankle), safety Bradley McDougald (knee), tackle Duane Brown (knee), and running back Chris Carson (not injury related) all not participating in practice.
Earlier Tuesday, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll delivered a handful of injury updates, touching on the status of strong safety Delano Hill (hip), who was placed on injured reserve, as well as providing personnel updates on players who sat out Tuesday's practice like Sweezy and Griffin. You can check out what Carroll had to say right here.
Encouragingly for the Seahawks, guard D.J. Fluker (hamstring) was a limited participant Tuesday, while free safety Tedric Thompson (ankle) was a full participant. Both players have missed time in recent weeks, but Carroll has said he expects the pair to be ready for this weekend's playoff game.
