Wednesday Practice Report: Jadeveon Clowney & Ziggy Ansah Both Limited For Seahawks

Details on the Seahawks’ Wednesday practice report ahead of their Week 14 game against the Los Angeles Rams.

Coming off of a Monday game, the Seahawks held a lighter-than-usual Wednesday practice to kick off their preparation for this week's game in Los Angeles. And in positive news, two defensive linemen dealing with injury concerns were a part of that practice, as defensive ends Jadeveon Clowney and Ziggy Ansah were both limited participants.

Clowney is dealing with a core-muscle injury that kept him out of Seattle's Week 12 game, and kept him off the practice field at the start of last week, so the fact that he was on the field Wednesday after playing Monday is an encouraging sign, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said.

Asked how Clowney was feeling after the game, Carroll said, "Pretty good. He's practicing today and that's a really good sign."

Ansah, meanwhile, is dealing with a stinger sustained in Monday's game.

"He looks like he's doing OK so far," Carroll said. "We won't know for a couple days if he's clear and all that."

Another good sign for the Seahawks is that no one is listed as limited or not practicing due to illness after a handful of players battled the flu last week. Among those getting healthier after last week is receiver Tyler Lockett, who after coming back from a shin contusion that led to a two-night hospital stay, got hit hard with the flu last week.

"I'm anxious for him to have this week and get back at it," Carroll said of Lockett. "He was really sick last week. Real sick as a couple guys were. It just takes a lot out of you. He's doing better."

Sitting out Wednesday were three players who missed Monday's game due to injury—cornerback Neiko Thorpe (core), fullback Nick Bellore (quadriceps) and tight end Luke Willson (hamstring)—as well as Duane Brown (biceps/knee), who has regularly been held out of Wednesday practices to manage his ailments, and Mychal Kendricks, who injured his hamstring last week but was able to play against the Vikings.
