Wednesday Practice Report: Strong Safety Kam Chancellor Sidelined For Seahawks

A closer look at Wednesday's practice report for the Seahawks and Cardinals ahead of the two teams' Sunday night matchup in Arizona.

Just three players missed Wednesday's practice for the Seahawks, the team's first workout of Week 7 as it readies for Sunday's primetime matchup with the NFC West rival Arizona Cardinals.

Running back Thomas Rawls (fibula), who's expected to miss a couple more weeks, tight end Luke Willson (knee), who had surgery Tuesday but is expected to "make a miraculous return," and strong safety Kam Chancellor (groin), who was held from this past weekend's game after suffering an injury at practice last week, were the three Seattle players who did not participate. Every other Seahawks player was listed as full.

Earlier Wednesday, head coach Pete Carroll called Chancellor's status "day to day."

"I don't know what's going to happen for the weekend," Carroll said of Chancellor. "As a matter of fact, he's running right now, in between walk through and practice today to see how he does. So I don't know."

As expected, defensive linemen Michael Bennett (knee), Frank Clark (hamstring), and Quinton Jefferson (thumb) were full-go on Wednesday. Also noteworthy for the Seahawks is that Bradley Sowell (back) was a new addition on the injury front, but the left tackle was still a full participant on the practice field.

For the Cardinals, Carson Palmer (hamstring) did not participate in practice, though on a conference call with the Seattle-area media, Arizona head coach Bruce Arians said the Cardinals' starting quarterback will "be fine" for gameday. AZCardinals.com, the team's official website, said Palmer was given the day off to rest. Offensive lineman Mike Iupati (ankle), who sat out practice last week and missed the team's Monday night game to injury, returned to work in limited fashion on Wednesday and should return to the lineup Sunday, according to Arizona's team website. Receivers Jaron Brown (knee) and John Brown (hamstring), meanwhile, were both sidelined.
