Friday's Injury Report

The Seahawks ruled out four players for Sunday's game before heading to Houston on Friday, including right tackle Brandon Shell, who left last week's game with a shoulder injury. Running back Travis Homer, who earned NFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors for his play last weekend, is also out with calf and hamstring injuries, as is guard/center Kyle Fuller (calf).

Safety Jamal Adams shows up on the injury report because he had not yet been placed on injured reserve prior to the injury report coming out Friday, but that move was made later in the afternoon to free up a roster spot for Gavin Heslop, who was signed off the practice squad. Seattle's other Pro-Bowl safety, Quandre Diggs, is questionable with a calf injury that caused him to miss practice the previous two days, but he did practice Friday and Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Diggs will play.

Hosted by sideline reporter Jen Mueller and Seahawks Senior Digital Media Reporter John Boyle, the Seahawks Insiders podcast takes an in-depth look at each week's Seahawks game and analyzes the previous week's matchup. Available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and wherever else you get your podcasts.

Two players who missed last week's game, running back Alex Collins and left guard Damien Lewis, do not have game status designations, meaning they are ready to go. Lewis being back from a two-game absence means the Seahawks will have four of their five starting offensive linemen, but will need to replace Shell at right tackle. The most likely candidates are rookies: Stone Forsythe, who replaced Shell in last week's game, or Jake Curhan, who took over at guard for an injured Fuller prior to Shell leaving the game, but whose natural position is tackle.

The Texans have six players listed as questionable, including sack leader Jonathan Greenard, leading receiver Brandin Cooks, and former Seahawk linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis.

Thursday's Injury Report

The Seahawks were without seven players on Thursday, including safety Quandre Diggs for a second straight day, as well as receiver DK Metcalf, who is listed with his usual foot injury as well as an illness. Diggs did not appear to suffer an obvious injury in Sunday's game and was able to finish the win over the 49ers, but missing a second consecutive day indicates his calf injury could be an issue.

Also out for the second day in a row, as Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said would be the case, is right tackle Brandon Shell, who has left the past two games early with a shoulder injury, as well as defensive tackle Bryan Mone (knee), guard/center Kyler Fuller (calf), and safety Jamal Adams, who will likely land on injured reserve soon after suffering a season-ending shoulder injury against the 49ers. Running back Travis Homer (calf/hamstring) didn't practice after being listed as limited Wednesday. Running back Alex Collins, who is hoping to get back after missing last week's game with an abdomen injury, was limited for the second straight day.

Wednesday's Injury Report

The Seahawks opened their week of practice with six players not practicing due to injury, though most were expected. Starting right tackle Brandon Shell, who has been dealing with a shoulder injury that knocked him out of the last two games, didn't practice, nor did guard/center Kyle Fuller, who left last week's game with a calf injury. DK Metcalf, who has been getting a day off every week for much of the season due to a foot injury, also didn't practice, nor did defensive tackle Bryan Mone, who injured his knee against the 49ers, but was able to return to the game. The only unexpected name on the report was safety Quandre Diggs, who didn't practice due to a calf injury, though it's always worth remembering that plenty of players get days off with minor injuries that end up not being an issue by late in the week.

Running back Alex Collins, who missed last weekend's game with an abdomen injury, was limited, as was running back Travis Homer, who is listed with calf and hamstring injuries. Starting left guard Damien Lewis, who has missed the past two games, was a full participant.

Houston had seven players held out of practice Wednesday, center Justin Britt, who recently returned to action from injured reserve. Britt is one of three former Seahawks on Houston's injury report along with defensive end Jacob Martin (knee) and linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis (hamstring), both of whom were limited.
