Friday Injury Report

The Seahawks have released their game status designations for the upcoming Week 17 matchup with the Steelers and have ruled five players out. Safety Jamal Adams is among the four players who will be unavailable on Sunday as he is still dealing with a knee injury. Adams was a limited participant in practice this week but the team felt that he is not ready to return this week so he will miss his third consecutive game. Wide receiver Dee Eskridge is another player that has been ruled out for Sunday as he has been suffering from a ribs injury since the Thanksgiving night game versus the 49ers and has been out ever since.

Five players are listed as questionable heading into the weekend including players at key positions in all three phases of the game. Two of the team's top playmakers on offense, DK Metcalf and Kenneth Walker III, are both questionable as they are dealing with injuries. Walker injured his shoulder earlier this month but has not missed any game action because of that injury. He missed two games in November with an oblique injury but is now dealing with a shoulder injury and an illness. Metcalf was added to the injury report on Thursday afternoon with a back injury and is questionable for Sunday.

The defense could get Devon Witherspoon back this week as he is questionable for Week 17 with a hip injury. He was limited in practice this week after missing the previous two games. Linebacker Jordyn Brooks is another defensive starter that is questionable due to an ankle injury. If Brooks can't play on Sunday, Devin Bush could step into a bigger role against his former team. Special teams standout Nick Bellore is also questionable after missing practice time this week due to a knee injury.

The Steelers have officially ruled three players out for Sunday's contest versus Seattle including All-Pro safety Minkah Fitzpatrick. Fitzpatrick has been dealing with a knee injury that forced him to miss every practice this week so he will be unavailable on Sunday. Running back Najee Harris fully participated in Friday's practice and was not given a game status designation so he will be available to play in Seattle. Quarterback Kenny Pickett is questionable after being limited in each of the three practices this week because of an ankle injury. If he is unable to suit up as expected, Mason Rudolph is in line to make his second consecutive start.

Thursday Injury Report

The Seahawks practiced on Thursday afternoon and were missing eight players due to injuries and one for resting purposes. Wide receiver DK Metcalf was a new addition to this week's injury report due to a back injury. Metcalf was not listed on Wednesday's report but was held out of the second practice of the week. A few of the players that missed Wednesday's practice remained out on Thursday including Kenneth Walker III and Jordyn Brooks. Brooks left the Titans game with an ankle injury that had been affecting him for the past few weeks.

Defensive backs Devon Witherspoon and Jamal Adams were limited for the second consecutive day as they try to make their way back from injuries. They each have missed the previous two games as Witherspoon is dealing with a hip injury and Adams is suffering from a knee injury.

After missing the first practice of the week with a knee injury, tight end Noah Fant returned to practice as a full participant on Thursday afternoon. A pair of rookie wide receivers in Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Jake Bobo fully participated in practice today after being limited with knee injuries on Wednesday.

The Steelers practiced without star safety Minkah Fitzpatrick for the second consecutive day due to a knee injury casting doubt on his availability for Sunday. Running back Najee Harris returned to practice in a limited capacity after missing the first practice of the week due to a knee injury.

Wednesday Injury Report

The Seahawks returned to practice on Wednesday afternoon in preparation for their upcoming matchup with the Steelers and were missing eight players due to injury and three for resting purposes. Among the players that missed practice due to injury were linebacker Jordyn Brooks and running back Kenneth Walker III. Brooks has been dealing with an ankle injury in recent weeks and exited the Week 16 win over the Titans on Sunday. Walker has also been dealing with his injury over the past couple of weeks but was able to make it through the Titans game without any setbacks. He is now dealing with an illness on top of his shoulder injury and was unable to practice today because of it.

The defensive line was missing a few players in the first practice of the week as Dre'Mont Jones, Mario Edwards Jr. and Jarran Reed all missed Wednesday's practice. Jones and Edwards Jr. are dealing with injuries while Reed was given the day off for rest.

In good news, defensive backs Jamal Adams and Devon Witherspoon returned to practice in a limited capacity as they have recently missed time due to injuries. Adams has been dealing with a knee injury for a large part of the season and has missed the last two games but returned to practice on Wednesday. "He was in walkthrough also bouncing around," said head coach Pete Carroll. "He's going to practice today. It's the first time in a while we got a chance to get him out, he's had a good break, and we'll see what that means. I can't conclude anything about that, but I'm happy for him, I know he's pumped up to be back out there."

Witherspoon also has missed the previous two games but made it back to practice on Wednesday and provided the high energy the team has seen from him all season. "He's got a little spark to him today," coach Carroll said prior to Wednesday's practice. "A little spark. When he's firing, you know it. He was bouncing around pretty good in the walkthrough, we'll see what happens in practice today. This is the first time really he's been able to show a little bit of something getting back on the field. He has wanted to and tried to. It was fun watching him out there."

The Steelers were missing four players in Wednesday's practice including safety Minkah Fitzpatrick and running back Najee Harris. Fitzpatrick suffered a knee injury in Week 15 and was unable to play in the team's most recent game. Also missing the Week 16 game due to injury was starting quarterback Kenny Pickett. The former first round pick has been out since exiting the Week 13 loss to the Cardinals with an ankle injury. Pickett was limited in the first practice this week, so if he is unable to play on Sunday, veteran Mason Rudolph will make his second consecutive start.
