Saturday Injury Report

The Seahawks have ruled out four defensive starters for the Monday Night Football matchup vs. the Lions in Detroit. Defensive linemen Leonard Williams and Byron Murphy II and linebackers Boye Mafe and Uchenna Nwosu will not play against the Lions in Week 4 due to injuries. Williams and Murphy suffered injuries in the Week 3 win over the Dolphins that forced them to exit the game, and neither were able to return. After not practicing all week, both players have been ruled out for Monday night.

Boye Mafe has also been ruled out due to a knee injury that has been bothering him for a few weeks. Despite being questionable for Week 3, Mafe was able to play against Miami where he added another sack on the season. He was unable to practice all of this week so he will not play in Detroit. Uchenna Nwosu is not ready to make his season debut as he has been ruled out as well. The good news is that Nwosu was able to return to practice in a limited capacity on Saturday for the first time since being injured in the preseason.

Even though four key defensive players will not play, head coach Mike Macdonald does not expect any of them to miss significant time. "A couple of guys, we will re-evaluate later on next week, I would imagine. I'm not sure on actual timelines but none are long-term I don't think, unless something changes."

Inside linebacker Jerome Baker is the only Seahawk listed as questionable for Week 4 as he is still trying to work through the hamstring injury that sidelined him last week. Baker had been dealing with the hamstring injury throughout training camp and re-aggravated it in the second game of the season in New England. He has been getting limited work in practice over the past two weeks and could be a game-time decision for Monday Night.

In good news, Kenneth Walker III will return to the lineup after missing the previous two games. The third year back injured his oblique late in the Week 1 win over the Broncos and has not been able to play since. He was able to return to practice this week in a limited capacity and the team feels he is healthy enough to return in time to face the Lions. "He's looked good, he's ready to go," said Macdonald.

The Lions have ruled out one player and listed one as questionable. Pro-Bowl center Frank Ragnow was not able to practice all week because of a pectoral injury and will not play on Monday night. The team listed rookie second-round pick, Ennis Rakestraw Jr., as questionable as he is dealing with a hamstring injury.

Friday Injury Report

The Seahawks held a walkthrough on Friday afternoon and released an estimation of player participation had there been a full practice. Five of the six players that missed practice on Thursday afternoon sat out on Friday due to injuries. Five key players on the defensive side of the ball were unable to practice for the second consecutive day, including defensive linemen Byron Murphy II and Leonard Williams. The two starting defensive linemen sustained injuries in the team's most recent win over the Dolphins and have been unable to get any work in since. Also missing practice on Friday were linebackers Boye Mafe, Uchenna Nwosu and Jerome Baker.

The one player who was absent on Thursday that returned to practice on Friday was guard Anthony Bradford. He has been dealing with a knee injury that has landed him on the injury report in recent weeks but has not missed a game and fully participated in practice today. Running back Kenneth Walker III was able to practice in a limited capacity for the second straight day which is a positive sign that he is making progress in recovering from an oblique injury. He has missed the previous two games but hopes to return in time for Monday Night Football. The other starting guard, Laken Tomlinson, was limited to start the week with an ankle injury but returned as a full participant on Friday.

Linebacker Derick Hall was a full participant today after being limited with a hip injury on Thursday. Wide receivers Tyler Lockett, DK Metcalf and Jake Bobo have been listed on the injury report for the past two days but have been able to fully participate in both practices.

Lions' Pro Bowl center Frank Ragnow missed practice for the second consecutive day with a pectoral injury. Head coach Dan Campbell said that Ragnow is not expected to be available for the upcoming game on Monday night. A few key players did return to practice as full participants including Brian Branch, Sam LaPorta, Alim McNeill and Levi Onwunzurike.

Thursday Injury Report

The Seahawks practiced on Thursday afternoon without six players, including five starters on the defensive side of the ball. Three starting linebackers were held out of practice due to injuries. Uchenna Nwosu, who has yet to make his season debut, was held out again because of a knee injury suffered in the team's preseason finale. The team made the decision to not place him on injured reserve to start the year with the hopes he could make it back before missing four games, but he is still not able to participate in practice. Boye Mafe also missed Thursday's practice because of a knee injury. Mafe missed last Wednesday's practice with the same injury but was able to practice in a limited capacity over the next two days and played in the win over the Dolphins. Jerome Baker reaggravated a hamstring injury in Week 2 and missed two of the three practices leading up to the game vs. Miami in which he did not play.

Two key players on the defensive line, Leonard Williams and Byron Murphy II, exited the team's most recent game with injuries and were unable to return. Both players were unable to practice on Thursday but hope to return in time for Monday night in Detroit. Guard Anthony Bradford was the only offensive player to miss Thursday's practice as he is dealing with a knee injury. The second-year man out of LSU has started each of the past three games but is battling with rookie guard Christian Haynes to lock down the starting right guard position.

In good news, running back Kenneth Walker III practiced in a limited capacity on Thursday. Walker has sat out each of the past two games with an oblique injury after a 100-yard rushing performance against Denver in Week 1. Veteran guard Laken Tomlinson was also limited as he is dealing with an ankle injury. Second year linebacker Derick Hall, who is coming off of the best game of his young NFL career, was limited due to a hip injury. Hall was limited in all three practices last week but still put together a strong showing that resulted in two sacks against Miami.

Wide receivers Tyler Lockett, DK Metcalf and Jake Bobo were all listed as full participants on today's injury report. Lockett has typically been limited in the first practice of each week to start the season but was able to fully practice on Thursday. DK Metcalf has been listed with a hand injury since the beginning of last week, but that didn't stop him from having a 100-yard receiving game that included a 71-yard touchdown in the Week 3 win.

The Lions are dealing injuries to significant players on both sides of the ball including tight end Sam LaPorta and center Frank Ragnow. Both LaPorta and Ragnow missed practice on Thursday with ankle and pectoral injuries respectively. Defensive back Brian Branch was limited with a concussion while linebacker Alex Anzalone fully participated with the same injury.
