Week 7 Injury Report: Seahawks at Chargers

Details on the Seahawks’ injury situation heading into their Week 7 game against the Chargers, including game status designations.

IR Oct 19

Friday's Injury Report

The Seahawks head into their Week 7 game with one player ruled out, reserve cornerback Isaiah Dunn, and three others listed as doubtful, including starting guard Gabe Jackson, who missed last week's game with a hip injury.

And perhaps most notably, leading receiver Tyler Lockett is listed as questionable with a hamstring injury. Lockett showed up on the injury report last week, but was able to play in Seattle's Week 6 win over Arizona. While Lockett didn't practice all week, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said "his chances are really good at playing. We put him on ice to make sure that he got stronger through these last two weeks. He was a little bit hampered last week, but he made it through, so we're just trying to be careful with him. If there's anybody in the program that we can do this with, he could do it. So we'll see, I'm not going to know until gameday."

Also listed as questionable is cornerback Sidney Jones IV, who was added to the injury report Friday with a groin injury.

With Jackson out, Phil Haynes will make his third start of the season, having played in place of Jackson last week, and for Damien Lewis at left guard in Week 1.

For the Chargers, receiver Keenan Allen is questionable with a hamstring injury, and head coach Brandon Staley told reporters Allen will be a game-day decision. The Chargers will be without regular kicker Dustin Hopkins, who injured his hamstring in Monday night's win over the Broncos, while All-Pro center Corey Linsley is expected back after missing last week's game and being limited in practice this week due to illness.

Thursday's Injury Report

The Seahawks had the same five players sit out practice Thursday due to injury as a day earlier, a group that includes receiver Tyler Lockett with a hamstring injury. Lockett showed up on last week's report during the week, but was able to practice Friday and played in Sunday's win over the Cardinals. The fact that he has taken two straight days off makes it a situation worth monitoring, but until Seahawks coach Pete Carroll talks to the media Friday after practice, there won't be a lot of clarity on Lockett's status.

Three of the four players who were limited a day earlier—tight end Noah Fant, nose tackle Al Woods and safety Ryan Neal—were all full participants Thursday.

For the Chargers, receiver Keenan Allen, who is trying to make his way back from a hamstring injury, was limited for the second straight day. Also limited was starting center Corey Linsley, who missed last week's game with an illness. Former Seahawk Gerald Everett was a full participant Thursday after being held out a day earlier due to illness.

Wednesday's Injury Report

The Seahawks kicked off their practice week six players not practicing, and four others limited due to injuries.

The did-not-participate list included starting guard Gabe Jackson, who missed last week's game with a groin injury, as well as receiver Tyler Lockett (hamstring), though it's worth noting Lockett also showed up with a hamstring injury last week and was fine to play in the game. Outside linebacker Uchenna Nwosu, who will be traveling to his home town and facing his former team when the Seahawks head to L.A. to face the Chargers, got the day off as well, but for rest, not an injury.

As Pete Carroll had said would be the case, Al Woods returned to practice after missing last week's game. You can read more on what Carroll said about Woods and other injuries here. Woods was limited on his first day back, as were tight end Noah Fant (illness), safety Ryan Neal (ankle) and defensive end Quinton Jefferson (foot)
